REgulation for 2024-2025 academic year at university of cassino

Before the start of the educational activities planned for the first year of the engineering degree course, students are required to take a test to verify their initial preparation (TOLC-I, TOLC-E). This test aims to provide general indications about their aptitude for the chosen studies and to assess the presence of any Additional Educational Obligations (OFA) in mathematics, resulting from deficiencies in the knowledge required for admission to the degree course.

Failure to participate in the initial preparation test (TOLC-I, TOLC-E) is considered equivalent to a negative result, with the simultaneous assignment of the OFA to the absent student.

For the A.Y. 2024/2025, an Integrated Course in Mathematics I is organized, which will be delivered in the first week of September 2024. The course is aimed at addressing any OFA in mathematics and will last for 24 hours.

Any OFA in mathematics can be fulfilled by passing an appropriate CIA Test prepared by the instructor of the Integrated Course in Mathematics I and administered to students at the end of the course.

The CIA Test will consist of 20 multiple-choice questions, which the student must answer within a maximum of two hours. The questions will cover the topics included in the syllabus of the Integrated Course in Mathematics I. One point will be awarded for each correct answer, 0 points for each unanswered question, and -0.25 points for each incorrect answer. The OFA will be fulfilled by obtaining a score of at least 10 points. The test will be administered 5 times during the academic year 2024/2025 (September, October, November, December, and April).

A student who did not attend the Integrated Course in Mathematics I may prepare for the CIA test through individual study and self-learning activities agreed upon with the tutor assigned to each student as part of the tutoring service provided by the Study Program to which the student is enrolled.

The Additional Educational Obligations (OFA) can alternatively be fulfilled by passing the Mathematics I exam by September 2025. In this case, the student may enroll in the second year of the degree course.

If the student has not fulfilled the OFA (either by passing the CIA Test or by passing the Mathematics I exam by September 2025), they will be enrolled in the second year of the course part-time but will not be able to take exams for the second and third years until the OFA is fulfilled.
